How Board & Train Works
Consultation
We agree on a date and time for you to bring in your dog for an in-dept consultation/evaluation. We assess your dog’s temperament and personality, your dog's relationship with family members, your family dynamics and gain a clear understanding of your goals.

Training Your Dog Your dog stays at our facility while the trainer trains your dog. This includes interactions with other dogs, people, noises, smells and so on. You will be updated through texts and through training posts on social media. Please keep in mind that you are paying us to train your dog, not to constantly take pictures, videos and send you emails.

Training Sessions
Your first training session is scheduled for the day you pick up your dog. In this comprehensive lesson you will learn everything your dog has learned, how to enjoy your newly obedient dog & much more! We recommend that everyone who interacts with your dog participate in this training session.You have 2 additional one-on-one lessons included so that you and your dog get the continued support you need.

Basic Obedience is fundamental to forging a strong relationship based on mutual love and respect between owner and dog. Our training programs not only train dogs, but also train owners to understand and use training techniques effectively.

Before we took our 10 month old German Shepherd, Sierra to Larry The Dog Coach K-9 Training, walks with her would be a nightmare of being pulled into traffic or having her try to chase after dogs and children playing in their yards. After spending time with Larry, we have a completely new dog. Our walks are more enjoyable with her by my side. Behavior Modification
This program utilizes all of the commands in the basic obedience program, but is tailored for dogs with severe behavioral problems. Severe behavioral problems include but are not limited to: aggression towards people (including bite history against dogs and people), severe separation anxiety, and severe lack of socialization, or fearfulness that prohibits the dog from normal activities such as walking on leash. The length of the training is dependent on the individual dog.
Can all behaviors be modified? There are many factors that influence or drive behavior; temperament, genetics, environment, past socialization history, arousal, medical/physical issues, commitment from the owner, train-ability of the dog, etc. Since every dog is its’ own individual, future behavior can never be guaranteed or 100% predicted since a lot of behaviors are constantly changing depending on the environment the dog is in.

Follow-Through
Follow-through is an important aspect of dog training. Dogs need repeated reinforcement with each and every behavior you train into them. Dogs are creatures of absolutes; either they can always sleep on the couch, or they can never sleep on the couch. If you don’t follow up on the training foundation that we have established by enforcing house rules consistently and practicing their training, your dog will become confused and unhappy.
The long-term success of a dog’s training is only partly up the dog; it’s also up to all of the members of the human family. When everyone follows through on your dog’s initial training, you’ll have an obedient, happy dog.

Each dog is different in regards to ability, intelligence and temperament and dog training does not provide exact results. Country K9 makes no expressed, nor implied guarantee, to the results reached in training or to the level of competency reached by any dog. Country K9 also reserves the right to refuse to train any dog if we feel the dog is too dangerous or the situation is not going to work out for the benefit for the dog or owner.
