Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How long does it take to train my dog?
A. The amount of time required to train your dog is dependent on what you want your dog to learn, what issues need to be addressed, and your dog’s temperament and personality.
Q. How old does my dog have to be to enroll in training?
A. 6 months - Earlier than 6 months will be on a case by case basis.
Q. Will my dog forget who I am?
A. Of course not! Dogs have great recall facilitated by their superior sense of smell.
Q. Will I be able to visit my dog?
A. We strongly discourage you from visiting your dog while he/she is in our board and train program. Your dog is immersed in a structured and consistent environment with no distracting events. A visit from you could upset that balance. After all, they have to see you leave again, and that can be stressful. Especially for a more emotional or anxious dog. In some cases, we can even lose a couple days of good training time. We will update you through texts and social media.
Q. What vaccinations are required to be enrolled in training?
A. The following vaccinations are required for dogs enrolled in training. It is the owners responsibility to ensure that their dog has the required vaccinations prior to drop-off.
DHPP - Distemper/Hepatitis/Parvo/Parainfluenza
DHLPP - Distemper/Hepatitis/Leptospirosis/Parvo/Parainfluenza
DHLPPC - Distemper/Hepatitis/Leptospirosis/Parvo/Parainfluenza/Corona
Your vet will guide you in choosing the appropriate Distemper combination vaccination for your dog's age and lifestyle.
Please note that Bordetella is similar in nature to the human flu. Although the vaccination is a great prevention, it does not cover all strains of Bordetella and it is still possible for your dog to develop Bordetella.
